La Paz Waterfall Gardens 

Get a first insight of Costa Rican´s lush tropical rainforest and impressive waterfalls.

La Paz Waterfall Gardens is an animal sanctuary with over 100 species of animals and offering easy hiking trails passing waterfalls cascading down the east slope of the active Poás Volcano.

Visit afterwards the serpentarium, bird house, frog exhibition, hummingbird garden and the jungle cat house. During your stay buffet lunch included.

Day 3: Journey to Tortuguero

• Early morning pick-up from your hotel in San José.
• Scenic drive through lush pasturelands, banana plantations, and Braulio Carrillo National Park.
• Breakfast at El Ceibo restaurant in Guapiles.
• Continue to a small river harbor for a boat navigation through the stunning Tortuguero Canals, surrounded by diverse flora and fauna.
• Welcome and check-in at Evergreen Lodge with a delicious lunch.
• Afternoon visits to the local museum, beach area, and the charming village of Tortuguero.
• A delightful dinner is served at the lodge.

Day 4: Exploring Tortuguero National Park

• Optional early morning boat tour at dawn to witness the Caribbean sunrise and enjoy nature at its best.
• Breakfast at the lodge.
• Discover the lodge’s private trails and experience the lush flora and fauna.
• Lunch at the lodge.
• Afternoon boat tour through the quiet backwater canals for close-up wildlife observation.
• Relaxation time by the pool or optional canopy tour (additional cost).

Post-Breakfast (Day 5):

Continue by bus to El Ceibo restaurant in Guapiles for a hearty, home-cooked Costa Rican lunch.

After breakfast, you leave Tortuguero around 9 a.m by boat. Upon arrival at the small river harbor, you continue the travel by bus to a typical Costa Rican restaurant ‘El Ceibo’ near Guapiles for a delicious home-cooked lunch. Continue your journey yo your next destination.

Snorkeling & Walking  Tour.

This tour is started with a small boat having capacity for 15 persons, a captain and a local guide. You will be taken to the surroundings of the Cahuita National Park which with the highest biodiversity per square meter in the different ecosystems on land and in the sea.  Participants have the opportunity to snorkel for around 2 hours in the most important coral reef of Costa Rica and with a bit of luck lots of different species can be observed: corals, tropical fish, sharks, moray eels, sea urchins, univalves, crustaceans, algae, sea turtles, sea cucumbers, sea sponges, lobster, and shrimp, amongst others.

After the snorkeling experience, the second part of the tour begins: a hike towards between Punta Cahuita and the town of Cahuita (about 5 km) where guests have the chance to overseer different species of snakes, sloths, white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys, anteaters, armadillos, racoons, morpho butterflies and others, as well as numerous types of birds.This tour includes a fruit snack, the provision of snorkeling equipment, a bilingual guide, lunch, round-trip transportation and water. Duration: 7 to 8 hours, minimum 2 persons. Entrance fee to the national park may be paid as a voluntary donation.

 The rainforest lodge is located in the extreme north of the country, near the border with Nicaragua.

Private  Boat Tour.

We will take a boat that will take us down the majestic San Carlos River to the border with Nicaragua.

During the trip we will be able to observe birds, turtles, monkeys, iguanas and the impressive crocodiles that inhabit it.
We will arrive at a small community called Boca San Carlos, its name refers to the mouth of the San Carlos River, Costa Rica in the San Juan River, Nicaragua; there we will take a short tour and if you wish you can enjoy a natural refreshment offered by the local people.

Continue the tour after breakfast and return to Pital. Via “Muelle” you will reach the town of La Fortuna, located at the foot of the Arenal Volcano, around noon. In good weather, the almost perfect cone can be seen from far away. 

Sky Tram, Sky Trek , Sky Walk.

A full day of adventure awaits you today!You start with the Sky Tram, a open-air gondola which reaches a wide observation deck at the highest point of the Arenal Reserve, from where you can observe the rainforest, the Arenal Volcano and lake. The journey in the aerial tramway is accompanied by a naturalist guide giving interesting information about the nature and environment. Once you have reached the observation deck, you can enjoy a walk on one of the trails during about 30 minutes.You will continue to a more adventurous way! A Sky Trek tour full of adrenaline above the treetops, which consists on a system of zip lines, that allows you to observe the rainforest and its landscape from a different perspective.

The tour includes 7 cross-sectional cables with distances up to750m (2460 feet), and with a maximum height of 200m (660 feet), providing a panoramic view of the Arenal Volcano and lake.You finish off with a guided Sky Walk, perfect for nature lovers. An excellent combination between walking in the exuberant rainforest of the Arenal area and the extreme adventure of Arenals Zip Lines!

Today you head north to the Rincón de la Vieja National Park.
Rincón de la Vieja is a place where the volcanic component, with its fumaroles, lagoons and Pailas de Barro, is combined with a great diversity of ecosystems and impressive landscapes, waterfalls, regenerating grasslands and primary forests.

You will enjoy a dinner at Haicenda Guachipelin.

Today your journey will take you to the cool cloud forest region of Monteverde. Thanks to the altitude of this destination, at 1550 m above sea level, an interesting biodiversity thrives here, typical of high-altitude tropical forests. 

You will feel as if you are on top of the world, but in reality you have arrived at the center of the country’s continental divide. In Monteverde, the sun-drenched faces of the beach dwellers are replaced by the warm smiles of farmers, artists, naturalists and nature lovers, especially in the small but cozy village of Santa Elena.
