Bienvenido and Welcome!
We are Aventuras Tierra Verde, a sustainable tour operator based in Costa Rica, founded in 1995 by two German expats. Our office is located in beautiful Ciudad Colon, about 30 minutes outside the turbulent capital of San Jose.
Our international team, currently consisting of 15 Costa Ricans and Germans, has made it their mission to make your dream vacation in Costa Rica come true.
Our cultural differences are our strength, as we know exactly what the customer expects, but we also know what makes the Ticos tick.
In 2012, Tierra Verde received the highest possible Category 5 of the CST sustainability certification; Since 2016, we have also been a Rainforest Alliance-certified tour operator that meets internationally recognized, global sustainability criteria. Furthermore, Tierra Verde received a 4-star award in 2016 as part of the ecological program “Blue Flag” (Bandera Azul Ecológica).

Our concern is professional, responsible and sustainable tourism, realized through careful route planning according to the number of participants, critical selection of the respective service providers and regions visited according to quality and sustainability criteria, as well as detailed information for our guests about ecological and social efforts of the Republic of Costa Rica, their residents and NGOs.
Tierra Verde is now one of the most recognized travel agencies in Costa Rica. We are just as proud of our long-standing, good business relationships with tour operators and service providers, which we are constantly expanding, as we are of the above-average satisfaction of our guests.
Our guiding principles are controlled growth, accompanied by innovation and creativity to permanently improve our products and services, as well as the aim of creating a safe and stable working environment for our employees and their families.
We answer our customers’ inquiries and bookings in detail and competently within a maximum of 24 hours by email (or fax) – in your language. In addition to Spanish and English, many of our employees also speak German. Whether in the area of individual or group travel: we think for our guests in the background and ensure that a trip to Costa Rica becomes an unforgettable experience.
Careful travel planning and preparation, detailed customer information and small touches for our guests are just as much a matter of course for us as a 24-hour emergency service in German/English that can provide unbureaucratic assistance with problems.

With 27 years of experience in the tourism industry, I have developed a deep understanding of what it takes to create unforgettable travel experiences. Leading a dedicated team, our goal is to ensure our clients have a remarkable time exploring the beauty of Costa Rica. Personally, I have a fondness for Puerto Viejo Limon, Zona Sur, and Santa Teresa, especially the stunning beach areas.

With a passion for reading, music, hiking, and going to the gym, I am an individual who enjoys staying active and engaged. I am particularly drawn to tourism for its ability to encompass various aspects of society, culture, and leisure. I love to travel and discover new places, immersing myself in different heritages. Teaching others about my country brings me great joy. As for my favorite place in Costa Rica, La Fortuna holds a special place in my heart, with its blissful hot springs and amazing proximity to the majestic Arenal Volcano.
