Your journey today takes you to the cool cloud forest region of Monteverde. Thanks to the altitude of this destination, 1550m above sea level, an interesting variety of species, typical of high-altitude tropical forests, thrives here.
You will have the feeling of being on top of the world, but in reality you have arrived in the center of the country’s continental divide. In Monteverde, the sun-drenched faces of beach dwellers are replaced by the warm smiles of farmers, artists, naturalists and nature lovers, especially in the small but cozy town of Santa Elena.
